Wow!  With only two weeks left of school, I have to be really clever now with my work and get it all cleared up, so that I can play with Sam when he breaks up (I feel Little Big Planet may feature heavily).  However, before all that, Sam has Egyptian Day at school and I am making a mask of Horus, son of Isis and Osiris, for Sam to wear.

I did some quick research on Horus and found some extremely unsavoury details of a battle with his bother, where one lost an eye and the other a testicle, which i actually decided to edit out of the myth retold for Sam, as I don't want to give him any ideas!  Boys eh?  Luckily their mum, Isis mended the eye - I'm now sure about the testicle.  They really should make a soap opera about these guys - it would be great!

Anyways, I feel quite strongly that I shouldn't just go out and buy a costume, as that feels like 'cheating', so there I was at nearly midnight  last night, painting in the falconny details of this mask.  I reckon it's actually going to be really fab.  Unless it rains, then Sam will have a weird soggy mess on his head and a seriously black face.

We got back from good ole Cornwall yesterday, after a bit of a whistle stop tour of friends and family.

We found a really pretty little village called Charlestown, that we have noted for further investigation at some point.

It was so great to see old friends and my Daddy and step mum, plus we had a good ole Singstar sesh with Nathan and Michelle and I sang until my nose bled!  Haha!

I'm already looking forward to a longer trip!

I just had a text informing me that !!!URGENT!!!  a Large Parcel was awaiting delivery and to phone the number 23222270680 for delivery tomorrow.

I decided to Google before I did anything and I'm very glad I did - people reckon that it could cost about £50 - as it's a scam.

Don't get caught!

I AM going to the tip today and I WILL do that Flash tutorial and nothing is going to stop me!

It's that fabulously indulgent time of year, when us grown ups get to scare little kids and get away with it!

Rich is learning to play the drums - I'm sure you've

heard!

Here is proof if proof be need be that he CAN actually play the drums really quite well!

We went for a lovely walk today - it was a gorgeous crispy autumnal day, so we took my new video camera (and Sam!) for a walk!

Well, since Sam went to stay at Grandma and Grandad's house and Grandma bought Sam some "Beast Quest" books, he has been completely addicted to them and SOOOOOO inpatient about the new series coming out this autumn.  Imagine our surprise when Amazon appeared to have delivered them 2 weeks before their due publication date!!!  Or prehaps they just came out early?

Anyways, Sam is one very happy boy.  After school, he was playing on the field with his friends and we heard several boys exclaiming "Beast Quest Club Meeting!  In the woods!"  Of course, young Sam has started up a club at school, to rap about 'BQ' and generally enthuse. Haha. If you're about 7 years old - you simply NEED to read them!  Go now!

Oh - elsewhere in March House - Rich has been learning to play the drums (and teach Sam), so it's been a few days of bom chik a bom chik here.  (video will appear here soon!)  So far it is not at all annoying, just nice to have music in the house.  I can't wait till Sam gets a violin and starts joining in!

Oh - as well - the final stage of our Europe trip is <--there (ish)

Wow!  Can you believe it's now a five minute round trip to drop Sam off at school?  I can't!  Now he has gone up into the 'main school' - it's all very different - LOT more independence and responsibility.  Plus, now he does prep some days, which means no homework when he gets home -just mummy and daddy playtime - which is cool!

The weather has decided to cheer up a bit too, which is fab!  I've pootled out to the garden and repositioned some dahlias.

You might notice, I've 'revamped' the blog, in the spirit of autumnal change.  If you don't like it, don't worry, I may well change it again soon :)  Has anyone reading this been to any 'not-so-busy' Greek islands?

It's back to school for Sam!  He had a great first day and is thoroughly enjoying being in 'main school' now.  The house has been eerily quiet during the day.  My agenda changes a bit now, to work, painting things orange and chopping down big plants.  Like most British people, I guess, we've starting thinking about our next holiday... Egypt?  Cyprus?  Mexico?  Or perhaps our carbon footprint means that we should stay in Britain in the rain?  On the radio today they were asking for the definition of 'summer in Britain' and one answer was the three days of sun at the end of Spring. 

Getting very dispondant about the garden too - I can see some great looking flowers from the living room, but getting out there across the drenched metre high grass to smell them is a bit tricky really.  Still, at least we got some lovely sunshine last weekend in Paris.  We would really love to live in France - do they do a census there? Hmmm.

We've just come back from a great long weekend in Paris!  Somewhere I have never been before, but surely will go back to!  We saw LOADS - including the Pere Lachaise cemetary, where Jim Morrison is, the Catacombs, the City Museum, the Grand Arche, Sacre Coeur, Notre Dame and more!  all this AND the Fete de Ganesh was on in our street!  The weather was fantastic too

We're very pooped now, so I'm hoping that Sam will kind of chill out a bit, while I start sewing in the billion labels on his schooliform.
